The Swap
Well the engine is all ready to swap in.

I've replaced all the gaskets, seals, O rings, given it a fresh coat of high temp paint and clear coat. The Charger was rebuilt to a Stage 2 by Dave at Kompressor Kanada, Can't say enough good things about him!

I've added a RS outlet to improve the airflow, and once the Charger and engine are broken in I'll be installing a 68mm pulley and belt, a Stage 4 chip, a lower temp thermostat.

I figure I'll need a full week to finish the swap. I'll post more pics and details of the swap each day.
Day 2 of the swap
So tonight out came the engine, what I had hoped would be a 2-3 hour job ended up taking almost 7 hours and the passenger side engine mount bolt had seized up inside the mount. And the through bolts for the tranny mount had been but in the wrong way by the last owner, so the tranny mount could not be removed until the engine was actually out. This made manouvering the motor very difficult.
So here is a before shot and then ones with all the wiring and plumbing removed.

And now with the hoist set-up ready to start the lift

And then 6 hours later...volla! she's out!

Damm that was a long tough night!
P.S. Now I know why the motor was running so bad and why it finally died. The timing belt was so loose you could slide it off the cam gear, and there was a huge amount of play in the distributer shaft. The rotor was scorched and the contact points on the cap where almost completely wore out! DAMM
On the plus side she seems to be rebuildable!
