After my Passat daily threw it's strut up into the hood I put my beloved G-Roc back on the road...only to have a electrical fire under the dash that took out all hte electronics except the motor. Thankfully I'd wired the motor and it's computer separately otherwise she'd have been toast. Guess it's time to start with the new build. Mid engine, RWD, Twin Charged stage 5+ G-60.

84 wolfsburg 8v 1.8l, bought it back in October. At the time I bought it, it seemed like I'd gotten a great deal. But as time has pass, the wallet getting lighter and the new parts list growing it looks like I was had. But on the bright side in another few months it'll be almost like a new car.
Here are some pic of the car when I got it, the engine bay was really dirty. Pic on the left are from when I got it
and on the right as it looks know after 2 weekends of cleaning.
Some minor body work on the front airdam and rear fender wells, as well as around the windshield still need to be attended to. It's amazing how a shiny paint job can hide so many problems. So far I've had to replace the front suspension, the gas tank, the entire ignition system, starter motor and bushings, altenator, brakes, passenger door, replaced the power window switches on both sides, new sunroof seal, replaced the faulty orignal horn with a dual Air horn, new windshield, new down pipe, a cat back exhaust consisting of a Cherry Bomb (to keep the noise down)and a Ractive flow through muffler and the dash. I have a new rear hatch that I need to paint first as the old one leaks. I'm also in the process of re-wiring the car one circuit at a time and there are loads of shorts, corroded wires and such. But it will all be worth it in the end as these cars are a blast to drive.
P.S. By the way the used gas tank I put in the car leaks too...bloody hell!
