1994 Galaxy Blue Eunos 800

The Eunos 800 (Asia/Australia), aka the Mazda Millenia (North America), aka the Xedos 9 (Europe). This car is known by many names depending on where you are in the world. We owners simply refer to it as the 'Milly', but no matter what name it goes by there's no mistaking the unique and elegant style. A style certainly beloved by many.

However this uniqueness has a price, and that is very little performance and aftermarket parts. With that in mind, I did the best I could with what was available in Australia. I've had to search high and low looking for parts, a lot of times having to mail order from North America. But I've still got a long way to go, and it's going to be a tough road ahead.

Alas, that's the price one pays for this kind of taste. Instead of the boy-toy rice racer or muscle car, I'm into the big luxury car. Cars the average person doesn't think of buying to modify. In my opinion, this makes ownership a bit more unique.

The evidence can be seen with my previous vehicle, a 1991 Acura Legend (3rd page). Back when I bought it, it was still being driven around by older folks looking for a good family car. So when I lowered it, upgraded to chrome wheels, and replaced the exhaust, it was pretty much the only fixed up Legend in the area.

I've carried this passion for modifications to Australia, where I currently reside. With car prices double that of prices in North America, I settled for the earliest model Milly. Despite being a bit dated in age, the style was still attractive to a lot of people. The curves are quite elegant, and the engine is quite smooth for a 2.3 liter. Plus it had a lot of similar features to the Legend, which makes it a parallel move rather than a downgrade.

It's extremely difficult to lower this car in the Australian environment. I used to have it lower, but the speed bumps and drive ways here are hideous! Even cars at stock height have trouble getting over on some of the mountain size speed bumps! No offense, but the Australian civil engineers wouldn't know practical civil engineering from their a**.

In any case, for more pics on the modifications, please go to the next page....
