Jackie and I found this car sitting in weeds about 5 ft tall a couple of years ago, pulled it home, cleaned it up a little bit, and here she is. Our '71 Charger is currently a daily driver as well as work in progress. But with "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" we hope to have her done within the next year.
It currently has a 318 with a column shift tranny, not sure if we are gonna leave it set up that way or put in a hi perf 440 Comando that I found. That's still in the planning stages. We have lifted the rear about 8 1/2", we run 275-60-15 on the rear and 215-60-14 on the front. We're Old School!
Picture this in your mind, either Pearl White or Plum Crazy
(
which color do you think would be better?)
with a black vinyl top and black interrior. Sun roof, tilt wheel, tinted windows, etc.
On Oct. 25, 2005 I met Mario Andretti at Cooper Tire in Hutchinson, KS. doing a promo thing. This was a rush, meeting a racing legend. Anyway, I shook his hand and I asked him if he would be willing to sign the deck lid of our Charger, he said sure, no problem. Here are some pics of the event.
