Proposed Modifications:

I am currently getting mileage ranging from 4 to 7 to 10 MPG, and Here are propositions to fix this problem (also listed briefely on page 1). Information to keep in mind is that this truck weighed 6680 pounds at the scales.

Working A/C & Heat-
-The ducting is currently in dis-array and the flapper isn't working properly under the dash

Fiberglass Hood (saves ~75 pounds)
-Although good ones cost over 400 dollars, it would allow me to not have to use a hood prop (new hinges and springs) and save weight

Bucket Front Seats (from 73-91 suburban) (saves about ~30 pounds)
-Bucket seats from a 73-91 suburban are a perfect match for this truck, and they would serve two-fold: Less weight, and more comfortable ride

New Carpet (with seat conversion if completed)
-If/when the bucket seat conversion is performed, New carpet will also be on the list to be put in. If not carpet, maybe a roll on bed-liner (Jeep style).

Fiberglass Fender modifications (smoother lines, aero work)
-I've never seen this done, but I can see how it would help fuel mileage by reducing wind resistance. Using fiberglass (which is the composition of the existing outer fenders), extend the leading and trailing edges of the fenders so that they go out about 6" further than stock, wrapping around the fuel fillers. One of the fenders is already cracked, so it wouldn't hurt anything (make new light mounts at same time).

Overdrive (gear vendor or 4L80E) (Adds ~50 pounds)
-My calculations show that by installing overdrive, I would pick up about 15% more fuel mileage, which put me at either 8.05 MPG (based off 7) or 11.5 MPG (based off 10). That is based off current conditions. After the engine is tuned, that should be closer to 12-13.

headliner
-Headliners decrease interior heat. The rear 3 windows are already tinted, and I would like to tint the front 2 windows (clear windsheild), get a windshield foil, and have a headliner installed.

PAINT!
-My truck needs to be sandblasted and primered the rest of the way! I'd like to have my lights and trim put back on!
