Custom fog lights
I decided to mount fog lamps. I did not go with the stock fogs because I was told I needed a different bumper. That would have been too much money.
Here is the full schematic.
Over a period of time I noticed that the lenses were cracking for no reason. After thinking about it, I decided that the heat from the H3 bulbs was too much for the lenses to handle. I called the manufacturer and they confirmed it. They sent me a replacement set.
In order to reduce the heat I decided to wire the fog lamps in series instead of parallel; this in term makes them less bright. I really just have these fog lamps for decoration purposes and I did not care about the brightness. So far no more cracked lenses.
This is how I got 12V.
I ran the wire from the switch through the rubber boot around the steering wheel. Just punch it right through with a coat hanger.
1.-First thing was to cut the plastic louvers of the spoiler.
2.-Mount the fogs to home made brackets (two strips of metal). Bought the metal brackets at Wallmart in the hardware dept.
The reason for these brackets was to make it easy to replace the bulbs when the time came.
To replace a burnt out bulb all I have to do is remove the two screws, pull out the whole assembly and replace the bulb.
3.-I mounted a relay just underneath the brake fluid reservoir. There was an empty 10mm threaded hole there already.
4.-Mounted an illuminated toggle switch to the dash board.
5.-Final product:
Decided to redo fogs installation, click below for new install:

Hey there, I've checked out your car before through Toyota nation I believe it was. My tires are 18" 225 40 low profile Nexten. I have not done any modification to the suspension, it all normal because I want a smooth ride. It may looked lowered because of the low pros on it. I like what you did with your tech stuff.

k&n intake from ebay.. i did the research and decided togo with k &N because the injen, weapon r, dragon , apc they are all better at higher rpms there was a study done on those intakes online and since i wasn't really hard reving the car and 90% of the time its city driving i wanted morepower on lower powerband and k&n was good enough for that..
