This is my 1998 chevy 1500. I got it as a graduation present from my parents. It has 120000 miles on the 4.3 V-6. The whole truck is bone stock for now but once I start making some bills that will change.

Plans include a 2-4 drop and 18" rims, along with alot of body work and new paint (the guy before me put ALOT of dents in it). After I get the base truck looking good I'll start with the more interesting things: clear corners and euro tails, lineX bed liner, tinted windows, exhaust system, cool air intake, maybe a performance chip, differant gears, aftermarket grill and mirrors, and interior work. You get the idea.

6-25-06: I went and spent about $250 on a CD player for the truck so now I have tunes while I'm driving. I had circuit city install the parts for me since it was free with the money I spent on the unit. Also I got a set of 6 1/2" door speakers with the package for free.

6-30-06: I asked my friend to come over to help me out with the installation of the door speakers. I didn't have any Idea how to get the door pannels off and he's an auto body guy so he could do it in his sleep. The guy at circuit city said that it was a painless process... that was a bunch of BS. It took us close to 2 1/2 hours to get the speakers in the doors. After that was done I didn't have any cash so I could pay off my friend for his time (he dosn't charge me but I'm a nice guy) so I agreed to help him clean out his garage. After I got home from that I found a toolbox in my truck. My dad had gotten it from one of his customers for a good price. Now I have a place to put all of my tools for construction.

7-5-06: I finally had enogh of the way my truck's rims looked so I spent some cash and fixed the problem

After... much better

7-21-06: I'm kind of strapped for cash at the moment so insted of going for the 2"-4" drop I ordered a pair of 2" rear drop shackles so the truck will sit level at least, and since it's 2-wheel drive it sits kinda low any way. I'll get some pics up when I do the install.

8-2-06: my shackles came in and I ordered a new front valence for the truck because it was cracked and that came in. I'm doing the shackle install tonight and I did the valence yesterday. Pics to follow.

12-2-06: Its been a while since I've done anything with this and alot has happened. I recently turned 125,000 miles with the truck mostly going back and forth to work. I also managed to get into a bit of an accident too. I was out running around on a sunday morning in the rain and got a bit too crazy with the accelerator and put the beast into a ditch. It screwed up the fender, bumper, grille, and the valence that I put on is destroyed. my buddy and I figure $600 will get it back to what it was or maybe even better than what it was. The new pics are of the damage. It seems that I might have even managed to tweek the frame a bit too, I've got an appointment to get it looked at and pulled if neccicery next weekend.

I almost forgot I also did my first bit of really hardcore wrenching inbetween updates. I helped a friend of mine replace the transmission in his ford foucus. It had been running rough for a while and then it blew up. The kid that had it before him beat the crap out of the origional doing dumb stuff like neutral drops and tranny slams so it was a worn out and abused transmission to begin with. We started by unbolting the tranny and figure out that we bascily had to drop the whole motor to get the tranny on the ground. After we got it on the ground we looked the old one over and figure out why it didn't work any more, there was a baseball sized hole in the bell housing, the differential gears where ripped to pieces, and there where large chunks of metal thoughout the whole thing. We managed to get the new one installed, reconnected everything, filled it with fluid, and put it on the road. Much to our suprise everything worked and it shifted like a dream.

12-16-06: so I did have to get the frame pulled. I turned out that it was pretty bad, bad enough to rub the shoulder of the front driver's side tire bald. So we pulled it the first day and pulled close to an inch of hight out of the front end and then I had to come back for round two. Today we got things back to within 2mm of what it's suposed to be which is really good for a pickup truck I guess. I put a new blower motor in today also so now I have heat for winter and A/C in the summer after riding to work in 3 jackets shivering. Winter in the snowbelt of northeast ohio without heat is no good let me tell you:) I'll put up some pics when I get some extra time.

These pics are bad cause the only thing I had with me was my camera phone sorry.

The readout about half way thought the second day, +and- are up or down/side to side and how far its off all in millimeters we got it within 2 mm of perfectly square by the end of the day.

12-17-06: So I've got a group of friends that have started a little truck club called the "Low Lifes" they two of them have S-10's that are lowered and have built 350's in them and they wrench on all there own stuff. I've got sick of going to them when I needed stuff done so I decided that I wanted to start getting more into the mechanics of cars and trucks so I posted a wanted ad on a truck form that I'm a member at for a 350 block that I could rebuild and if I was successful put into my truck. I got a message from a guy saying that he had a 1970 350 block, heads, and crank that he would part with for $140 and if I wanted to meet him halfway (I'm from northeast ohio he's from Wheeling, WV) we could do the deal the next day so I called my buddy that is in the process of rebuilding a 350 if he wanted to go with me so I didn't get ripped off and he said sure. So we went down to Caimbridge Ohio and got the stuff and it was in really good shape. So I'm going to slowly peice it together and then drop it in my truck. I'll get some pics of the block up soon.

I got a call from my friend and he said that he ran all the block numbers and its a ligit 1970 350ci out of a C-series
pickup.

12-27-06: Well I went and got my block back today the shop magnafluxed it and blasted/cleaned it. That cost me $65 and I ordered an engine dolly that cost me $70 shipped to my door. Here's some pictures enjoy I'll keep updating as I do stuff.
