This is my current daily driver. After purchasing the car in early 2006, I took care of some clutch and brake hydraulic issues, tuned up the carbs a bit (same as on my '66 Volvo 1800S, so I'm pretty familiar with them), and replaced all four springs (only about 20-30 minutes per!). After some research, it appears finding a place to install speakers and amplifiers for an audio system can be difficult with these cars. My car originally had a pair of 6V batteries wired in series, but the previous owner had converted to a single 12V system using a modern battery (a smart conversion, as battery technology has improved quite a bit since the 60s). That left the second battery bay (under the rear seat) vacant. Using a battery tray liner from Moss Motors, I put together a custom subwoofer enclosure here, and placed a nice 4-channel Rockford Fosgate amp with built-in crossovers over the battery. The small 4x6 speakers sound surprisingly good with the right power, crossover, and enclosure (lots of space behind them). This car is a blast to drive and a great listening environment as well, without losing any cargo space.

beautiful..what kind of radio is that? it looks original and/or retro...fitting modern players in the old MGs is a challenge; just wonder what the rest of your setup is like since I'm about to retrofit my MGB roadster

Amazing. I love them. I used to have a midget and an Austin Healey Sprite. I'm trying to get one again. Keep it clean and let me know if you post more pics or info. Ltr.
