This is our 1965 Mercury Monterey Marauder. There were only about 10000 of the 4 door fastbacks made in 1965. It is, as you can see, white with teal colored interior. The car is very advanced for it's age. It has power windows and locks, which are both vaccum operated. It also has power steering and brakes, but the power brakes do not currently work. The motor is a Big Block 390 2V V8. It has a C4 transmission and a 9" rear end. Oh, did I mention it is all original? Right down to the spare tire. As far as we know, it is the only one in the county we live in. I have only seen one other in the state, and as a total I have seen 5 with the Marauder option, only 3 being 4 doors. Well, enough of the boring talk, here's some pics!

^^This is the only serious rust on the car. The rest of what you see is surface rust and can be sanded off.^^

^^The interior is in almost perfect condition, it just needs some cleaning up.^^

^^The rear end is rusted pretty bad, too, but I think around here I can find a frame. No biggie.^^

Well, that's it for now. I will post more pics as the restoration comes along, but for now, you can sign my guest book, and check out my other rides. ;)

Hey Chris - I also have a 1965 Mercury Monterey Marauder 4dr hardtop. It has 59,000 original miles. I love this car because no one else ever has one at car shows. It's a rare find that's for sure.
