here is an image, albeit not a very good one, of my naps z20e motor. it was rebuilt by the previous owner and runs well considering the car sat for 10 years before I aquired it. it has a more aggressive cam, is bored out to 2.2 on the original block, and has minor headwork. the Z series motors are very similar to the L series sohc but feature a twin plug design and the naps low emissions head. as time and money allow, I plan to swap a newer rwd nissan turbo motor into it. I had considered s110 motors originally available to nissan's japanese market, but it is very difficult to find a z18et or fj20e motor on this continent.
the drivers side rear quarter panel had some damage which I worked on a bit, in this picture you can hardly tell that I popped out a large dent. one day it will be left in the hands of a professional to make the factory sheetmetal smooth and straight all around the car.
some other modifications are a tubular header, exhaust system, and aftermarket clutch. the north america version of this vehicle (with the exception of mexico's s110 sakura) has electronic fuel injection, 4 wheel disc brakes, an electronic warning system, available power windows/mirrors and other features which made this car ahead of its time.
here is a picture I took while replacing the front bumper shock absorbers. one was depressed making the bumper sit uneven when looking at it from above. there is a full write up on this process with more pictures in an article (here) on the nissan infiniti car owners club website.
I am currently searching for this style of s110 silvia hood emblem, if you have one or know of one for sale, let me know! well that's all for now, I have lots of plans for my datsun, but I guess you'll just have to wait and see! please leave me a good rating and sign my guestbook on your way out. over time, I'll continue to update this site with pics and information. hope you enjoyed viewing my 1980 200sx!
