interior is in decent shape, mostly navy and black and was redone at some point in the 80's, dash has no cracks. a grant gt steering wheel is the only aftermarket you'll see in the cabin, stock shift knob on the 5 speed gearbox and no stereo.
It has stock seats at the moment, but I have some old recaro lx seats with 200sx brackets which I will install after they get re-covered. if I'm able to see my plans all the way through, the chassis will be reinforced with a tubular steel roll cage.
I stripped out the hatch, cleaned it up, straightened out and re-taped the wiring. I have plans to fabricate front and rear support bars for the shock towers. for the time being you can still see the original datsun light blue color inside the hatch, I may decide to paint it black.
the lower front of the passenger doorskin had suffered some damage prior to my getting the car and looked and rather unsightly. I had considered repairing the door but that was starting to look like a lot of work and still might not yield the results I desired.
it was no small miracle that I was able to source a passenger door off of an 83 coupe to replace it. amazingly, the color is as close to a match for the respray as you could ask for, and in very nice condition. notice how this door came with no side mirror? perfect for the addition of fender mirrors later.
the door fit and lined up with minimal coaxing, that is until I tried to roll up the window. coupe and hatch doors are the same, save the shape of the window glass. after swapping the glass between the 2 doors it rolled up and shut just fine. I had to massage the front fender just a little to get it to line up as close to perfect with the new door as I could.
