Pg 2. Next Generation Maverick Grabber

Finally got around to working on the Grabber! It's been along while since I was able to do anything to it. But Im back on track now and things are moving along.
I've built custom subframe connectors out of 2x3 steel tubing. Which also have custom brackets for the rear leaf springs which have been moved inboard for more wheel and tire clearence. The rear springs have been cut into and Im building a custom rear suspension setup similar to the "Wonderbar" setup the fatman fabrication makes.
I got the trans crossmember modified for the T-5 5speed trans. The trans tunnel has been clearenced and its in place. I have to make some brackets for the slave cylinder etc.
Was working on rolling the inner rear fender lips today as well.
When I get that done and the suspension setup, I'll be moving the wheels tubs over some sorta a mini-minitub deal.
New pics will be up soon!

This is a rendering I did of
what my Grabber may turn out
like. Always changing a few
things along the way. Most
likey the wheels will change
and adding the front bumper
back on. It's going to be
Shelby inspired! Im going to
have 2 hoods but not the one
in the rendering, a custom
one, and the original Grabber.

This is the Grabber not too
long after I got it. It needs
alittle work. Engine is out
right now...looking for a new
block to rebuild. While its
out I will be installing a T-5
5speed out of a 91 5.0 Mustang.
Already have a cherry grille
and front valance to replace
the ones on the car now.

Ugly rims. I've got Weld Drag
lites on it now. Just need to
take some new pics. They really
change the whole attitude on the Mav!

5 Stars. Ford should of made a Boss versionof this car. Heck this rig was a leftover Falcon and early Mustang. Back in the early 70s my consin dropped a 289 V-8 and four speed from a wrecked into a red 71 Maverick(only a dented front fender, and mind you he only bought this Mustnag for $500), from a 1966 Mustang GT (no joke).

hello alabama. nice concepts i am just now getting into the grabbers,i seen some pics the other day of me in my dads 70 model when i was a baby.his had the double scooped hood and a 70 mach 1 spoiler on the rear which i found was a popular deal back then, kinda like the saleen wing on mustangs now.anyway you can check out my vert if you want, but its got some changes and i need to update my page.just installed black interior and chrome cobra r's. ive got a 1984 351 block if you are interested and a 95 gt complete engine along with a lot of other parts. anyway i found a restored 71 blue grabber in henegar al. and i have a good friend who is interested in my vert so if everything goes right i may have my own grabber.i smell a fuel injected 5 spd grabber project in the works.good luck on your car.
