This is my Nile Black 1991 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 #1948/2000. I fell in love with this car when I 1st had a ride in one back in 1998 and ever since I wanted one. I finally decided to buy one in 2005 and shopped for one for over a year. I was picky..I wanted one that was well take care of and did not suffer from rust issues like the majority of the Galant VR4's sold in the United states since most of them were sold up north were they were exposed to the road salt during the winters.

I finally found one that was a southern car all its life, but I was the 4th owner. I did a little research as also the previous owner before me and the 1st owners of #1948 were a older couple in Tennessee. The 2nd owner was in Miami and it became his shops "race" car for a short time. The 3rd owner lived in North Carolina and then proceeded to fix and restore the car but he worked alot and had no time for the car as it sat in a garage majority of the time he owned it. I found him by pure luck and contacted him and after 6 months of talking and building a trusting relationship since he lived in N.C and me being in FL...I didn't have the luxury of seeing the car. I ended up taking ownership in 2005.

I have been restoring it and upgrading parts here and there. I have been able to source and replace the front and rear bumper with JDM pieces. The front bumper is a hard to find "RS" E39A Galant VR4 front bumper with the additional air vents for FMIC cooling. Replacing the USDM front and rear bumpers with the JDM OEM bumpers also shedded weight off the car. I also sourced out a rare "AMG" 3 piece rear spoiler to replace the Mitsubishi decklid spoiler. I have sourced out a JDM "RS" Galant vented hood which is made of aluminum and looking to install that on my GVR4. Another piece that came off a hard to find "RS" Galant VR4 is the "RS" 4G63t. I believe the strongest and most powerful production 6bolt 4G63t from factory that was equipped with bigger injectors, turbo and among other things. The original 6bolt 4G63 was replaced with this motor and freshened up before install.

Its almost where I want it to be. A few more suspension upgrades, new turbo setup, and new paint and I can say I am done with the car and it will occasionally attend some track events and be a show car. I am just happy I own a piece of Mitsubishi heritage, the Precursor to the Lancer Evolution, and a rare limited edition car.

Now some may ask why I named this car "Stitch". Well...the name is from the Disney movie "Lilo and Stitch". My fiance says that the character "stitch" is soo weired looking, that he was cute. Well..this was the same for this old boxy looking Galant...she said it was weired looking to her, but it was cute in a way...so the name "Stitch" seemed appropiate as also like the disney charater is odd looking too, it has a crazy and wild side.
