After going to a few car shows I got tired of having my prop rod in the way of my engine. Amazingly enough other car companies have these magical things called hood struts that hold the hood up for you! The 10 cents a vehicle this saved Ford must have been worth it to them. Once again, I am an eBay junkie and bought a set of Redline-Tuning "Elite" hood struts. Installation was really easy, just drilling a couple holes and riveting the mounts on the hood and fender. The strut just slides over the mounts and you put in a set pin to keep them from coming off. - I didn't take any pictures of this as there isn't much to look at.

I enjoyed my car like this for some time. Then around November/December I got the urge to spend more money on the Mustang. The urge was getting an email from MossMustang.com that they were having a Thanksgiving/Christmas sale and any one item was 15% off. So I think of the most expensive item to save the most money. That one item turned out to be the Classic Design Concepts Shaker hood scoop.

A few weeks later I have a huge box sitting at my house with everything that I need to install it. Fair warning - there are several photos below that are in chronological order. - Weird isn't it....

Pre-operation:

Removed hood liner:

Taping up hood to not scratch the paint. I ran out of masking tape and had several rolls of USPS Priority tape - hey, it works:

Laid the template out after measuring and started tracing the template w/ a knife cutting throught the paper and tape:

This was the part that worried me a little - actually cutting into the hood. I just used a jigsaw after first making an initial pilot hole w/ a drill:

Then after several minutes of installing the trim ring, the hood liner again, and adjusting the hood scoop it is finished:

Yeah, I had to use the camber bolts. There negative camber was pretty bad, camber bolts on full positive set it back to 0 degrees.
