This is our "Ruby". She is an all original 1993 40th anniversary Corvette with a 6 speed tranny and selectable ride control. We haven't had her long. Actually, like most of the best things in life, we weren't even looking for her when we found her. My wife and I had bought an 04 Pontiac Vibe back in 03. When we bought it, her son was living with us, so under the circumstances, it was THE car for us to have. Well, he, since then, went to live with his Dad, so at that point, it was just my wife and I, and the little Vibe wasn't as practical for us anymore.
Well, I went to the Pontiac dealer last January to get some parts for the little Vibe to do some preventive maintenance, and right in front of the showroom was this Corvette. Not thinking much of it, I went home, and a day or so later, I joked to the wife about how she needed to trade her Vibe in on that Vette. Well, one look at it, and she was in love. I knew I was in trouble then, because I thought they would wany a war pension for it. 58K original miles, local trade... yeah, they weren't gonna let her go cheap. But as it turned out, it needed a little TLC, and they didn't really know what they had. The coolant looked like coffee, the brakes were SHOT, the keyless entry didn't work quite right, there was an exhaust leak, and the battery was weak at best. Nothing major, but just alot of little things. Nothing I wasn't going to hold against the dealer to get a better deal. Since I do almost all of my own maintenance, I told them I'd take care of everything, but they were gonna have to take the deal I offered. So, we ended up trading, almost dead even, her little Pontiac Vibe for this Corvette.
So, we took Ruby home, and put new drilled and slotted brake rotors on her, along with ceramic brake pads, flushed the coolant, tightened up a loose bolt on the exhaust manifold, put a new battery in her keyless entry, and replaced the switches in the door so the interior lights would go out and not run down the battery. The only problem was that the factory "sawblade" wheels just weren't cutting it, so we got some polished ZR1 style 17 X 9.5" wheels and put some new Cooper 275/40/ZR17's on it, and got the windows tinted to %20.MUCH BETTER!! The only thing that I personally insisted on, was the fact that the factory exhaust was just WAY too quiet. So, I put on a pair of flowmaster mufflers. Yeah, a bit to get used to, but WOW!! Sounds REALLY good!!

Other than that, she will stay pretty much stock. She runs and drives as good as any Corvette should.
I will be uploading more pics as I get them. THANKS for checking out my page!!
