This truck is now for sale!
This is an image captured from one of the offroad videos I have made over time. I will have a new one out soon with some offroad carnage (chain breaking window, u-joint snaps, destroyed front hubs and more). View the Trailride here .

I bought the truck stock with out of state because I could not find the exact truck with every option I wanted. I drove it home from Indiana. All work on the truck has been done by myself in my cramped garage on rainy days with hand tools. I think I'm going to go with a superduty next time around for increased suspension travel and the fact that I'll have a simple solid axle to work with. I might be selling this truck depending on the offers I get. As far as damage I've snapped my steering rack in two, smashed my rear fender offroad and went through a transfer case (damaged engagement fork), 4 hubs, but it's all fixed now. Regardless, I like to think I use the truck to it's full potential and then some. I push the limits offroad and when doing so, things are going to break so lets keep the Ford "tough" remarks to yourself.
I have several offroad video's but I'll tease you with the latest, let me know what you think in the guestbook/comments. View the video here . Despite what you think with 3.73's, the truck gets up and goes for turning 37's. When I was stock height I'd hit high 6's in the 0-60, not bad for a 4wd weighing just under 6,000 lbs but it did take more than I'd hoped to get there. If this is a popular website I'll continue to post vids and writeups.
As far as Engine performance goes I've installed electric fans and wired them for temperature control and the other for high temp or a/c. The controllers are made by Troyer and the Fans are Derale's. I've also done underdrive pulley's and did not notice any decrease in A/C performance. I've installed an Air Force One intake, little difference and ran a little lean. Nothing a little custom tuning can't fix though. I have the truck custom tuned via an XCal2 by Troyer Performance. I have been on the dyno and produced the aforementioned numbers. I have since removed my rear catalytic convertors (cats). I removed my Magnaflow as I was not satisfied with the sound it produced, but the performance was great. I lost a ton of low end switching to the Flowmaster single chamber but I knew that going into the swap. At times I miss the maggie but it doesn't do the 5.4 justice (neither does 4 cats on that note!).
Couple guys from f150online @ Pismo, nice trucks!
Custom LT Shifter Swap. This took a lot of manipulation but turned out great, not a terribly difficult mod but took a while. Real corinthean leather instead of that cheap plastic will put a smile on anyones face.
I probably put over 17 hours into this lift, would have been a lot easier disassembling had I owned a set of air tools. Besides an electric drill, all I owned was hand tools. Pretty annoying.
On my way to breakdown nightmare, heading out to Comp hill @ Pismo Beach and destroyed my tensioner pulley, bearing was going out and decided to go at the worst time. My Pismo fun ended the first day but was still worth the trip.
Many mods in this image, shackle recovery hitch, SIDO 10 series Flowmaster Single Chamber split out the rear. I did my first exhaust which was a Magnaflow 18" SIDO but had the tips custom bent to my liking out @ NorCal muffler. Also notice the custom carbon fiber emblem overlays & the Sportrac 4x4 emblem (RP).
Was pulling a buddy's lifted F-150 out of the dunes, buried myself but was able to reverse out. I like this shot because it's a great angle of the F-150's body lines. The flex is complimentary of trimming, slight sheet metal trimming was needed but only because I'm running 37x13.5's on a 6" lift. I would crank my coilovers more but I have a defective compound that holds the shock in place while spinning the collar. In other words the strut and adjustment collar will spin as one and cause the strut to spin out of the coilover, therefore releasing nitrogen. I know because I did this on one side...I'm working with Fabtech so they can send me replacements. They're aware of this problem.
Getting ready to make the crossing. Definitely a soft bottom, claimed several trucks that day but I wasn't one of them, truck was about brand new right here. I came out with a failsafe check engine light but cleared it with the XCal2. I went back through the hole as you'll see in the video .
Glamour shot. Definitely not smashing into the hole, I needed to touch the bottom rather than float for a sec and then sink. This bottom was very soft. Better be ready to pull the plugs if you wanna play, the new 5.4 3v plugs are known for snapping in the heads upon removal so I would have been screwed.
Going back with nothing to prove.
Fixing in the pouring rain with onlookers laughing. I broke down on what was close to the furthest dune from Camp out @ Pismo (one more dune to comp hill). We were there with about 12 other Ford's and a few misc trucks, great time. Unfortunately I was stuck out there awaiting a pull back to camp. An F-150 with us on 12" susp + a 3" body sitting on 41" Iroks was unable to pull me out, nor a lifted 2500hd GMC. I was pulled out by an H1 hummer, a newfound respect was gained for the Torsen diff.
Dave snapped his driveshaft clean in half, I'm assuming it wasn't keyed/notched for articulation.
Built Ford Tough? Or not, he snapped his front driveshaft (possibly due to master key not having been grinded away).
Custom bed lighting, works great. I love how it turned out and use it all the time, I'm big on partying late by the lake. I'm looking to add a little more lighting back there, mainly towards the back of the bed behind the cab. Update: I added this, will have to get pics soon.
Nice shot after running the creekbed, definitely brutal on any truck the further you go, landed on my diff skid, lower control arms, F+R crossmembers, etc. Was stressful but made it out ok with a little spotting.
