Bought: Apr, 1996
This is my project car.... Thanks for having a look
Current projects:
So I now have the car back. It seems to be running pretty nice. It now has trick flow heads, Keith Black pistons, Eagle rods, new bearings, new push rods and 1.6 roller rockers. The compression rating is about 9 to 1. I took it down the track and ran a 14.1 @101 mph which is good as I was going easy on it. I'm going to have to look at some drag radials to get some beter traction.
I put the avenger 670 back on as the 570 seemed a bit small. It is running beter so I hope to put down some good nuimbers at the next Friday night drags.
It appears like the torque coverter is not a 3000 stall as it was supposed to be so I'll need to replace the one that is in there. I would see really great times until I put the proper stall converter in it. I'm sure getting tired of paying for the right parts but getting junk installed.
I finished installing the hammer shifter and the C-4 conversion kit. Unfortunatly the ones for 1980 has been discontinued so I used the one for 87-93. It does fit however I spent a lot of time making it work. It is a nice shifter.
Car Info:
It started out stock but very little original items remain. It had a 255 V8 (4.2 liter), c-5 auto, 7.5 diff with 2.25 gears (the only nice thing I can say is that is got great fuel economy on the highway). It now has a '68 302 block, Engle Racing Cam, ported & polished '68 heads, 5.0 crank with 351 firing order, Edelbrock Air Gap maifold, Trick Flow Heads with 1.6 roller rockers, Keith Black pistons, Easgle Rods, 670 Street Avenger Carb, K&N Filter and extreme topper, Hedman Headers, 2 1/2" dual Dyno Max exhust with H pipe, MSD 6al, MSD distributor, MSD adjustable Timing Control, Aurora 8.5 mm wires, C-4 Auto with a stage 2 shift kit, TCS converter, 8.8 Diff with poli-urathane bushings with 3.55 Ford Racing gears, Hogkis rear upper/ lower non adjustable control arms, Mac Camber/Caster plate, DEI Strut tower brace, BBK sub frame connectors, Koni Yellow adjustable struts/shocks, Suspension Technics 2" lowering springs, 1993 front spindles with Power Stop cross drilled 12" rotors, 17 x 9 1/2 Boyds wheels with 245-45 17 Hankook Ventus K104 Tires.
I have auto-crossed with this car which was a ton of fun. I have also dragged raced it quite a few times now. This is a daily driver and cruiser but definatly not a trailer queen!
Not many of these cars left and even fewer this nice. The colour is Black Sapire. It was mixed by mistake but I ended up using it because really liked it. The pictures don't really show how nice the colour is. The interior is custom grey and black. The seats are '99 Mustang GT that bolted right in. The rear seats still need to get redone in grey to match the front. I'll see how the drag racing goes, I might just add a 150 shot of nitrious, drive shaft loops and find some slicks or ET streets.
Here is a pic of the new rack, there are also offset bushings installed to improve the handling.
I've replaced the large inner pannels and continued the grey strip along the sides. The seatbelts were also replaced and switched to grey.
I've completed the Hurst line lock. What a fun new toy! All I have to do is flip up the ashtray lid and the red activation light is visable. Check out page 2 for some burn out pics. Since these pics I've needed to replace the clutch packs for the limited slip.

Here are some old pictures. The is pretty much how I bought it for $2000 except for the rear crome mags. It was poorly painted black. I bought it from a garage that had reposesed it because the previous owner failed to pay them for engine work.
