1996 st206_A fine vintage!

1996 Toyota Curren ST206...... yum!

 fritzkrackers's 1996 Toyota Curren

Custom stainless steel twin exit exhaust from the manifold (header). Cat' removed and thrown away like the restrictive torture device it was! Car can hit the redline in 5th gear (but never on a public road, officer)

Toyota logo remains but "Toyota" and "Curren" badges removed and usually linger around in drivers door pocket.

Fog light under bumper required by UK law.

Front splitter, side skirts and rear spats are TRD/Toyota factory options.

Custom fitted K-Sport coilover suspension with one way adjustable dampers and camber adjustable top mounts allow low ride height, also allows for spinal injury, even on motorways (that'll be a freeway if your in the US)

Rear wiper and spoiler removed due to looking shit. A very nifty HKS badge covers the wiper arm hole in glass.

Badass camber on rear prevents arch rubbing but doesnt protect your ass on bumpy roads.

wanna know how it handled? Well... as with all FWD cars, it could understeer like a bitch but the brakes were badass and, if well placed into a corner with the throttle balanced, it would do very well on twisty roads. you certainly got that satisfying feeling you get when you've gotten that last corner just right!  I toyed with custom anti-roll bars but wanted the car on the road and the existing ARB's would need to have been removed for copying. Outside of Japan, there is pretty much nothing available for the Curren but a few things for it's sister model, the Celica ST202. Custom work is enivitable though. I had big plans for this car inc' a revised engine on throttle bodies, stripout, rollcage, corner weighting, custom wide body. custom aluminium diffuser (cheaper than carbon, paint it black!), carbon wing, race seats etc but wanted rear wheel drive..... so i bought a 200sx.

It was a little different at first however, I do like it now. Which is one of the things I don't feel drawn to on your coupe (which is a coupe w/ trunk to counter your comment), the roof line makes me think Dodge Stratus/Chrysler Sebring. Not a huge bubble like top fan, just my tastes. And I actually would like to point out a few flaws in what you said, Jaguar XJS and XK, Aston Martin (almost as an entire brand), if you don't mind stretching into German, M3, M5, M6 & 6 series as a whole, the list continues on with coupes with trunks. Generalizations are normally a little off though so its all good.
