Thanatos6's 1996 Buick Roadmaster

I was on my way into school on 9/13 and at 7:40 AM
I was rear-ended by a little Pontiac going 40-50mph.
Going into town is a 8-10 mile drive on the highway. There's a stop sign and then it continues the last 1/4 mile into town.
The speed limit on this stretch is 40. I entered town and the car in front was turning left onto a side road. While they were waiting on traffic I had to stop behind them. That's when I look into the rear view mirror and see the car coming.
Living in a small town full of high school drivers I got used to people coming up fast and slamming on the brakes at the last minute. I was so used to it that I didn't really consider that she would hit me. Alas she did. The hit forced me off the road completely and her car still had enough momentum to to put it a ways away from mine. I had to get out through the passenger door as it was the only working one. Once I'm clear I go to the other driver with some murderous intent.
I had to pry open her door with the super-human strength I had rushing through me at the time. The whole car was full of smoke that billowed out once the door opened.
As soon as I get her out the owner of the lot we were in came out and offerred to phone the police. Not a minute afterwards one of the town cops came up and did what he had to do.
The second on the scene was the town scrap yard owner in his tow truck, just cruising for a car to add to his pile.
He looks at my car first and claims that it might still be drivable. He actually made an attempt to see if the Pontiac was still drivable...A joke really, the car no longer had a front end. My mom shows up and takes the information the officer had to offer and then I was on my way.
I got in the car and saw what a mess it really was. My seat was in a very uncomfortable position, all of my cd's were strewn about, and most amazingly of all has to be that the glasses I wear while driving ended up perfectly square in the back seat. They were folded neatly and couldn't have been more centered.
I drove on to school with the echo of the back fender scraping against the wheel
As I neared the school an ambulance races past. I hear later that the call turned into a full blown rescue call. A whole half hour afterwards I might add. If that's the service one is to expect....sheesh.
The whole school knew about my accident before it even occurred to me! I enter my homeroom to cries of pity and those wanting my phone number. ;p
