This is Black and Tan, my 1997 740i, named after the beer. It's also the ONLY color combo I ever have or ever will buy on a car. I bought it with 120,000 miles at the beginning of 2001, and now with almost 150,000 smooth, it's the best driving car I've ever owned.
First step was to aaarims.com for a set of refinished OEM M-Pars - about $1300 for the set of 4.
Then to discounttiredirect.com for a set of Nitto N555's. 255/45/18 Fronts, and 275/40/18 Rears. About $750 for the set. Originally, I had 235/50 & 255/45's, but the tires looked too "stretched out" over the rim. Next time, I'll probably go to a 245/40 & 285/35.
I did tint the windows, but only at 35%. All my friends are doing 20%, but It's illegal in Georgia, and the tickets are pretty expensive.
