My 69 Camaro is in a major rebuild stage, which went from an average family "grocery go-getter" to a full out race car.
In the engine compartment, out came the tired 230 six cylinder and in went a 408 bbc, 11.5:1 TRW pistons, Victor Jr intake, 850dp Holley mounted on top of reworked GM closed chamber, oval port heads, Doug Herbert solid roller cam, .685/.683, 290/304, 258/271@.050, 108CL and Comp Cams roller lifters, 6qt oil pan, MSD ignition, Hedman headers. Engine and head work were performed by Keith at K-Star Automotive in York, PA.
A new Pro Systems carb was ordered.
The transmission is a 2 speed powerglide with a high speed stall converter, shifted by a B&M Pro Ratchet shifter.
The original rear frame of the car was completely cut out and in went a S&W 24" rear frame assembly. The rear seat was replaced by a set of 40" aluminum tubs. Where the spare tire was, a 5 gal fuel cell, Optima battery, Holley fuel pump and a fuel filter are there now.

Traction is controlled by a set of 32" double adjustable ladders. Holding the S&W narrowed nine inch rear in the center is a track bar and a set of 130lbs coil over springs.
A new Strange center section with a 35 spline spool and 4.57 gears was ordered. Axles are from Moser Engineering.
The interior sheet metal is finally done. It took a little, but it turned out ok.
The front end also got worked on. I installed a new set a 11"
disc brakes and also put in new ball joints, coil springs, A-arm
bushings and tie rod ends.
The interior now has a set of Jaz fiberglass prostock seats and they are surrounded by a 14 point roll cage.
A window net to keep me from flying out of the car. I use Autometer gauges to monitor all the functions going on.
To make it a little lighter, the car has a fiberglass rear bumper, deck lid and a cowl hood. A fiberglass front bumper, aero scoop and lexan windows are in the near future.
The wheels are 15 x 3.5 Superlites, in the front and in the rear are 15 x 14 Superlites. Slick size is 32 x 14.5 Hoosiers, which were donated by my friends at S&W and Watash Speedshop.
The car will be repainted Lemans Blue keeping the black vinyl top and adding two white "Z" stripes.

Thanks,
Bruce
