Project Freebie The Mountain Spider started off sorta as a dare/challenge in a way.I buddy of mine was always taking me wheeling with him and having me fix his Jeep after it would break, well he dared me to build an offroad rig so we could wheel in seperat rigs.So it all starts a little over 2 years ago with a 79 jeep cj7 "what a POS it was" got sold shortly after buying it. My buddy "Korry" found me a 1988 1/2 Suzuki Samurai that was missing a fender, had no rear drive line and the thing was rusted to all hell. This happen to be perfect timing since my wife and i got a screaming deal on another 88 sami that had been in a roll over and needed body parts for the roof etc. ,well off came all the parts needed to put her's on the street. As i was building her sami i was wondering what to do with what was left of mine.

here is what it looked like when i brought it home.As time went by i started doing extincive research on what all i could do to a sami, well a year had past since i got the thing and it still wasnt going nowhere. Man did i have plans though :)Now it is almost 2 years later and i have done a SPOA (spring over axle)lift, cut the intire front body panels off, installed a lockrite locker in the rear diff, put some 31x10.50r15 bfg mt's,built a roll cage assembly from what use to be the front bumper all the way back to the rear bumper, installed a Brake line lock, snorkled the intake, made a 2"exhaust system from manifold back, installed a deadman power shutdown switch, removed the stock fuel tank, and relocated it to the rear bed area under roll cage, installed an onboard aircompressor and 11gal tank, for seats i went with 2 sespinion high back racing buckets w/ 5 point 3" harness. I have a total of $800 max invested into this thing. Most of the parts i needed where ither donated,or "horse traded" bardered for from other friends or members of the Zuks Of Arizona Club all of the labor of the fabricating, welding,or turning of a wrench was done by myself with the help of my loving and patient wife Angie, 1 good friend named Lane Brown (fabricated the seat brackets)and my loving daughter Krystal who painted it with me.< IMG 28 C>

zuks of arizona i will be taking lots of pics this memorial day weekend of the club wheeling trip and posting here and in other places.Ok that was fun but now it gets torn back down and repairs made.On it's maiden voyage i took it to one of the toughest trails and lasted 2 hours on the stock clutch. Now it is torn back apart for new clutch,t-case mounts, trans mount, steering linkage upgrade, skid plates on both diffs, tcase skid plate, rerout exhaust, add 2" extended shackles for 33" tires, drive line spacers, build my rock sliders and bumpers and then trail test again.
