I have owned this car since 1974. It is car no. 1R.11998. After 100k miles I did a bare-bones nut and bolt restoration. I had a difficult time trying to assemble the car due to a lack of factory information on the S2 cars. Fortunately my car was very original and any parts that had been replaced over the years were kept. Then I found the new Series 2 parts manual invaluable since it is the only illustrated, or even complete parts manual for the SII.

The car is driven weekly to the golf course. The only task left to do is put on the top.
