*~September 2008~* I ran a can of seafoam through the car, it's a great product, I noticed a little better mileage and a quicker pickup and smoother idle. Also I had somebody tell me the change my thermostat and that would fix my non-locking TCC. So for 8 bucks I changed it and the guy was 100% correct. Now my Torque Converter locks up as it normally should. Before the car would have to be running for a long time to get the TC to lock up, and it was hard on the mileage. I always had heat in the cabin so I didn't think the thermostat was the problem. Can't wait to see the mpg ratings on this next tank!(May 26, 2008) NEW (used) MOTOR Now the Cutlass is powered by, yes, GM's Tech 4 2.5L Engine, same as before just used in a different car. The donor was a 1988 Pontiac Fiero. I got the motor for $150 bucks. It needed a little bit of adjusting in order to fit. All of the Accessory Drives were backwards as the motor was in the back of the Fiero instead of the front, so the Power Steering Pump was by the Exhaust Manifold and the Alternator was by the Intake Manifold, and there was A/C. So I had to switch that, also the Thermostat Housing was different, and the pully on the Water pump was different and the bracket used to hold the Power Steering pump was different too! So now that everything is converted to the Cutlass Ciera's tastes, it's in the engine bay. Took dad and I two days to get everything re-arranged. I also had to change the valve cover gasket and a few other things, but now she's running like a top. Getting 33MPG (8L/100km) so that's not too bad!
