A custom Vehicle has more than seat covers & Underglow!!!!!!!!!
This is another project car that I have on the go.
currently the rabbit convertive is gutted. i have left the engine and transmission in because they are excellent. i have stripped out the interior and taken off the rag top and started to clean it.

I have removed the bumpers and cut off the front end. I am building a custom front end with a rally/sports car inspired design. This Rabbit is going to have a "muscle Car" feel.

Oh everyone, here is the problem V-Dub. I have been working on it, over the past 2 years on weekends and slow days, so the body looks like crap still, but if you can see through the filler, rust paint, I used to cover the bare metal, and the horrible body job someone had done on this car once, you will see that my Dub is very solid and the shell is in great shape (Boy I can't wait to build my garage!)

This is how I aquired the Dub, I had a 1989 GMC Safari with a blown water pump, I had invested over 1800 bucks into. I guy I knew wanted my van so I said, Gimmie $400 and its yours! So he stopped by to check it out. After showing him how spotless the interior was, and explaining how long it took me to polish the aluminum wheels, we made the deal, $400 I keep the rims and tires. So he gave me $50 and said he would be back the next day. Well the next day came and he showed up with $100. Thats a great sign. Well, 3 weeks had passed and not even a phone call. so One day on my way home from helping my grand father with his VW I called the guy that was buying my van. and asked when he was gonna finish paying me what he owed me. He explained how he was laid off. I don't feel bad for him in the least, infact he knew he was getting laid off. and he only owed me $250. So I asked, " do you still have that V-Dub?" He said,"I sure Do!" So I explained how I would take the ratty old rag top off his hands in exchange for the Safari. "KEWL" he said. The Rabbit had a blown drive shaft, no big deal, my vans water pump had blown and probly the motor, but I didn't care, I felt that was a decent trade. Anyhow, I started to pull out the drive shaft and it turns out that the bearing had blown apart and I had to disassemble the Hub assy. and cut the sieased Tie-Rod.

So now with the Rabbit moved, I have more room to work on it and finally finish the Convertible Vdub.
