In case you haven't found out yet, if it's stock it should be a dana 20 transfer case. Check this site out http://www.allpar.com/amc/1975-1976-jeep.html

I'm lookin' to get me a J10 and need some advice from other j10ers. I have a choice between an 80' with the 360amc 3 spd auto for $650, not in running condition needs $1400-$2000 to get it back and running. Or a 77' J10 with a 360amc 3 spd auto for $2000, in running condition. I'm mostly looking for advice on if the 77' is going to be better than the 80' or vice-a-versa, any help would be great, thanks.
