Modifications

Roof
When grafting the 56 top to the 60 body the roof was chopped a un-heard-of six (6) inches. In order to remove 6 inches and keep the original 56 oval window and original rag their original size I had to cut each piece out and set it aside. Then to reconstruct the shape of the roof we had to widen and lengthen the roof as it was chopped, which required the use of five (5) other VW Bug roofs.

Body
Original 56 metal deck lid was modified by sculpturing (welding) the pope-nose to deck lid. Suicide doors with hidden hinges and radius corners eliminating right angles. All handles, doors, trunk, and deck lid, shaved. Solenoids added for remote control door opening capabilities. Chrome moldings completely removed and smoothed. Compliments to Dave Kindig at Kindig-it Design.

Chassis
1971 IRS chassis modified with a customized air-bag suspension. Rear axles have added arms to support 2,500 lb airbags. Front beam has added mounting brackets to take the Dubbug from ground zero to twelve (12) inches of clearance. Airlift set-up controlled with remote to valves, compressor, and tanks. Chassis is backed by a 190 horsepower 2017 cc motor with dual 44 Weber carbs.

Fenders
Two (2) inch widened fiberglass fenders. All fenders raked in to follow continued radius of tires and to resemble 33 roadster. Running boards modified to match fender modifications. Fenders have been tear dropped on all four corners of car to enhance ground effects. Front fenders have been reshaped and sculptured to house original VW headlights from the back of fender, creating a frenched-in seamless appearance. German fluted lenses used giving the final touch to a headlight and mount resembling the 2002 Mercedes CLK. LED lense material has been added and sculptured to the rear fenders in the tail light position, while not only being completely hidden to touch, these taillights are also hiding behind 3 coats of color never to be seen until the LED is turned on; mounted from behind. 3rd brake and turn signal light added behind the fluted grill just under the rear oval window.

Interior
Dashboard, doors, and rear quarters have all been sculptured with fiberglass to create a round seamless mold from front to back. Seats - back seat pulled from a 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse & front seats from Corbeau. Fiberglass sculptured speaker panels. Everything wrapped in bone color leather. Mercedes bone color carpet.
