Rebuild completed in 2006. (It's not really a "restoration", as I didn't restore it to former condition.) When I bought it in 1967, this was a gold, plain, 6 cylinder 3-speed, with standard tan interior. It carried me to work and back every day, and the occasional trip, for 10 years and 178,000 miles. In 1980 I put it into storage, then in 1998, after building a new house with a 3 1/2 car garage (and that house is for sale BTW), started a complete rebuild. Now it is Black Cherry, modified black Pony interior, 5.0 HO EFI and 5-speed. Sound is furnished by a JVC stereo with Kenwood speakers. I kept the black cameracase dash instead of Pony's woodgrain, and have a black leather covered standard steering wheel. Door handle inserts are black leather, too, instead of original woodgrain plastic. '65 GT instruments with Rally Pack. Moved park brake to center floor, where it belongs. It is also equipped with cruise control on the turn signal stalk (is that necessary for cruise-ins?). This is not a show car. It is too much fun to drive... as in the occasional jaunt to the mountains, or a cruise-in, or maybe take it to the beach!
