Hey Guys

After finally getting the oppotunity to ditch my brothers old car which I hate with a passion, I was able to look for my own car. I guess facinated by classics I really was looking for something cheap which had a distinct vintage look. I really didn't wan't a 90's car, box shaped with sharpish edges errh.

After looking on the net for several weeks it seemed like I was mainly interested in toyota corollas and yeah holden gemini's. I must admit I had many second thoughts about buying a cheap and especially old car. However this 1979 Holden Gemini SL advertised on ebay really caught my attention. On 3rd May 2006 after some tense bidding (literally - I was in a monash computer lab with my mobile phone timer switched on) I won the car for $483.55, not bad at least I thought so.

These are the pictures displayed originally on ebay.

Howver at the moment I don't know much about car mechanics or restoration, but I was always planning to take up an automotive course depending on whether I got a suitable car working on. For the moment I find myself reading about engine mechanics on howstuffwork.com

At this stage my plan is to paint it electric blue and have two white running down the middle, with gold alloy wheels. Probably won't work on the engine as yet. But yeah really havn't set on anything yet so I would love some ideas.

By the way I havn't received the car as yet, expect more pics when I do get it.
