Now even though the car appeared to be clean, so it would seem that there was little that NEEDED to be done......but we all know they are never done, are they?
The images below show the car as she was on the day we got her.
VIEW FROM THE FRONT IS MY PERSONAL FAVORITE! FROM THE PASSENGER REAR LOOKING FORWARD YOU CAN SEE THAT THE BODY IS IN GOOD SHAPE, ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT. FROM THIS ANGLE YOU CAN TELL THE HOOD NEEDS SOME HELP JUST ALL AROUND A GOOD START FOR A RESTORATION CAR.
Well after the car was dismantled, we discovered that the entire frame was rotted beyond repair. We ordered a replacement and started from there. The work on the car is being performed by a very reputable local shop here in Florida. The name of the shop is Corvette Experts for those who are interested.
The photos below show the new frame trimmed out in all new components at the shop. We are awaiting the arrival of the pistons so that we can assemble the motor soon.
As you can see, the boys at Corvette Experts have totally dismantled the car, taking the time to catalog and inventory each part they removed. All of that seems to be overkill to me, since we seem to be replacing EVERY part on the chasis (including the frame itself). Close-ups depict the front end steering and suspension components that were ordered and installed in the past weeks. It really is pretty cool to see it come together almost with no effort at all. Plus all the parts are shiny and new from the frame to the gas tank and even the fuel line clips - all new again! Closeups from the ground looking up at the undercarriage of the newly restored Corvette Closeups show the castings on the motor - believe me they are correct - God Bless the internet and Ebay!

The Rod Run in Pigeon Forge is fun. I have been there 3 times for the event. It has been a few years sense I have been. Good times though. My favorite part is everyone sittn on the side of the streets yelln Give'er Hell wanting you to do a burnout. Nice vette by the way it looks like your doing a great job w/ the resto. Check out my vette when you get the chance.
