Hi , my name is Justin Scheirich im 18 and this is my car. I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is my 1981 Pontiac Trans Am. Shes my first car and that I've owned since I was 15, and has since been my daily driver aslong as there's no snow on the ground.

What she looks like right now --->   JustinScheirich's 1981 Pontiac Trans Am

Quick Specs:

1975 Pontiac 6.6L 400

Turbo Hydromatic 350 Automatic

Dyno run in early Summer of 2008: 207 Rwhp 305 Ft/Lbs . 14.7 in a simulated 1/4 mile

Torque/Horsepower curve looked like this --->         l----------l     ('bout 10-15hp difference between 1500 and 5500Rpm)

          4 years ago --->                    JustinScheirich's 1981 Pontiac Trans Am

When I first picked her up:

301 Turbo long gone, rebuilt Pontiac 400 in place

Most body panels been replaced and/or Bondo'ed. Most notably the turbo hood swapped for a shaker style

A Bandit front clip had replaced the 79-81 style

Late 70's air spats inplace of the originals

A fugly CD player had been put in [and promptly removed by myself]

Dual exhaust off the factory manifolds, but it was very small pipe and pretty rough

Painted Orange, VERY ORANGE!!   (Originally black)

Some sort of Edelbrock carb is sittin' in place of the original (ummm Holley???)

And about a thousand other things that make her just about 100% NON-OEM.

A quick story about purple oil ......

JustinScheirich's 1981 Pontiac Trans Am

The T/A had a sudden breakdown on the highway and I unknowingly drove over 5km at a constant 3000rpm with NO oil pressure (0 Psi!!). Royal Purple held and maintained a film in the bearings. After fixing the problem, I fired her up fearing the worst...     ...and NO smoke from shot O rings, NO bearing failure. She runs exactly as before. If it wasn't for RP my 6.6L would have been a lawn ornament.

Oh yeah, and it'll give you a dyno proven 3-4% more Horsepower, straight up.

What I've done to her:

Edelbrock Performance Plus Cam

Edelbrock Performer Intake manifold

Big 'Ol Chicken sticker from the pros at Phoenix Graphix

K&N 14" Air filter

Hedmann Shorty HTC coat headers (technically not untill next week)

2 1/2" Dual exhaust with an X-pipe (technially not untill next week)

Optima Red Top Battery

B&M Megashifter (factory fit ratchet shifter)

BFG Radial T/A's  255/60 in the rear 205/60 in the front

Accel 8mm Spiral Core wires

Sylvania Silverstar headlights

Tons of little repair jobs... New starter, Rebuilding the alternator ect. ect.

2004                                      2007 (looks even better now)

Future Plans:

As mentioned earlier, Im doing up a good exhaust system courtesy of Competition Muffler and Shocks. That'll probably be it for this year because Winter is creeping up pretty quick, not to mention I'll be broke . Next year might focus on the transmission a bit: more specifically an aftermarket v alve body and a torque converter somewhere around an 1800 stall. I may take the Carb into SIAST and rebuild or clean it up....maybe.

If any of the boys from Saskatoon are reading this, catch up with me on 8th Street some night and shoot some shit.

Thanks for reading my page!

Sick car man !!! Thanks a lot for your input. I really dont wanna rush anything and take my time with her. Keeping it all original is definitly an option that im considering. Keep up the great work on your car. Thanks again.

I sure do like your trans am. My 79 is kinda put together that way, but i have the 79 headlights. At one time I was gonna change to the 76-78 nose. Any new updates? Kim

@ mek dequzman You give me too much credit man! I'm just a young guy going to school. I wouldn't have the skill, tools, or patience to restore a T/A. My car was in decent shape when I got her. Thanks for the comments though guys :)

Hi Justine! Your car inspires me brother... I'll be there in Sask on January 2009 and my uncle will give me his 1986 TA as gift. Maybe you can help me restore it. Thanks in advance and God bless you! =)
