1974 Ford Capri 2800
This is my 1974 Ford Capri, my very first car. The car is still part of the family, and will be for many years to come.
1974 Ford Capri
The story behind this car is that my mum and my uncle both went to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to buy brand new cars. They both decided to get 1974 Ford Capris, except that my uncle got the upper trim level. So, this capri has been in the family since brand new. I have been driving her as a weekend cruiser since 1999, when it was mostly passed to me from my father. This is one of three and a half 1974 Capris that my father and I have owned. This one, my father bought from my uncle as his summer car, and he drove my mother's in winter. So my mother's car was not worth restoring with the amount of rust that had piled up over the years. We also bought another one out of the classifieds, cause it had a race engine, and the car was used for ice racing. I rebuilt that engine while I was in high school as a project for my grade 11 motor mech class. I have yet to put that engine into the car, as the car is still on the original engine. We had the car fully painted with full rust removal in 2002, and I have added wheels, upgraded rear leaf suspension, and stereo cause the old AM radio just didn't cut it anymore. I had to replace the carburator, the fuel pump, and the rack and pinion. Other than that, the rest of the car is all original. She runs a little rough right now, so I am looking into doing the engine swap maybe over winter, but time will tell.
Newest Pictures of the capri after we got it back from the body shop in 2005.

2006 Back home after spending another winter at the farm. It needs a wash pretty badly, but it'll have to wait till I have more time.
