< -------------------- This is what have done to it: -------------------- >
Performance:
1. AirRaid Cold Air Intake. The very first thing I bought for the truck and very happy with it.
2. Hypertech Power Programmer III. (part #30005)
3. MSD Ignition "Super Conducter" 8.5mm spark plug wires.
4. Iridium AC Delco spark plugs.
5. 180 degree thermostat (vs. the stock 195 degree).
6. 2 12" generic glasspacks with 16" SS tips out 45 degrees. I've been thinkin' of changing up the whole exhaust system because way too many people have the same set up and I need something different. Wait and see what I come up with! Hint: hidden.
Interior:
1. A Pioneer CD deck. Higher (but not highest) end. One word: Awesome.
2. 10" Blaupunkt (ODw1000HP) sub situated in the middle.
3. Digital Audio amp.
4. Blaupunkt ThinLine series 4x6" and 6 1/2" speakers.
5. PineFresh air freshener. ;)
6. Hidden powered antenna (made by Metra 44-UA20) eliminating the need for the external one. Covered the spot with one from a Cadillac.
7. Not a big emphasis on a "boomin'" stereo b/c I only listen to heavy metal, classic rock, etc. On very rare occasions you might hear some (old) country, but that's about it. I built it for SQ. Besides where would I put everything? And who needs an unnecessary couple hundred pounds to carry around? I actually use behind the seats for tools and jumper cables and such.
8. Came factory with center console and switched out for a fold down seat.
9. Very spartan inside for now.
Exterior:
1. Leer hard tonneau cover ($!!).
2. Octane (Series 350) 1-piece black painted alloy w/stainless steel lip Dale Earnhardt Jr. series 17x8 wheels and new LT285/70/R17 BFGoodrich All Terrain tires. I switch to '06 Chevy "5-spoke" factory wheels in the winter. Salt is a corrosive b***h.
3. Black (smoothed) grille. (What used to be on was chrome 'Burban grille with a PHAT Precision billet grille cut-out insert. Stands out much more than your standard billet grille. Like it? For the right price it can be yours! Leave a message I'll be in touch.) (SOON TO BE SHAVED)
4. Billet bowtie. (SOON TO BE REMOVED, CASUALTY OF SHAVING :P)
5. Fire and Ice L.E.D. light bar. I'm going to wire it so it only uses brakes and turns. When used with running lights, it seems too gaudy and that is not what my pickup is about. ;)
6. Pinstripes and emblems removed. Sucked coming off but well worth it!!!
7. Bushwacker black OE Style fender flares (painted). Looks like they belong on there, huh?
8. Dark tint on both rear (5%) and sides (17%).
9. Smoked Full L.E.D. 3rd brake light. (brake and cargo) Notice a trend here?!
10. Smoke tinted (professionally painted) taillights. One of the better things I've recently bought for this truck. Seriously.
11. Smoked front turn signals. (same tint as brake light) Sam
< --------------- Soon to be on (or to be done) but not limited to: --------------- >
Performance:
1. Armor-Coated Long Tube Headers.
2. A Comp Cam (and maybe some new rockers to match?). This is my DD after all so something not too huge to mess up the fuel economy too much. Any suggestions?
3. Performance brakes and rotors all around.
4. MSD Ignition LS-1/LS-6 Blaster Coils (8/pkg).
5. True dual exhaust like I had on my '98 Silverado. That means the two exhausts don't mix together (for those of you who get it wrong and those who don't know). Left manifold to left tip and right manifold to right tip. I'll still keep my 'packs and cats.
6. Mass Air Flow sensor (tuned for cold air).
7. Optima battery.
8. Maybe electric fan(s) to free up some HP.
9. Maybe switch to a 6.0 SS Silverado engine? ;)
Interior:
1. Not much for interior. I like the way it is now. Maybe a flip out 7" later when (or if) the current one breaks down beyond repair. Naturally components will follow and more to create a theater experience. I like SQ.
Exterior:
1. HD hood. Trust me ... it'll look nice on this truck.
2. Shaved tailgate handle. The way the tonneau cover opens allows me to shave it. I may or may not though. I'm still thinking about it.
3. Painted door handles. The texture is not very appetizing.
4. Lift if it ever is retired from DD use. 6" and 37" w/ 17" wheels when (if) it rolls around.
5. Other than a complete cut, buff, and wax, I'm done with the exterior. KISS method, folks!!!
Engine: An American-made 5.3. Not a 327 as Chevy had advertised it as because techically it is a 323. Even then it is still powerful enough to get me in trouble more often then not. ;)
Kudos to... The interior/exterior/performance is thanks to Summit Racing, Jeg's, StreetBeatCustoms.com, PerformanceProducts4Trucks.com, Autopartswarehouse.com, CKResto, Tim Behm at National Muffler, Chad and Kerry at OK Tire Store, Tintmasters, Fullsizechevy.com for your mountain of info and wit, can't forget eBay, and most importantly Truckin' magazine for giving me the inspiration to tear into my pride and joy. I will add to that never-ending list later on. All listed here may have a link in "Favorite Links".
Goals:
1. No half-a**ing anything. I'd rather do something right the first time than have to do it again.
2. I won't follow what everybody else is doing nor will I claim others ideas as mine.
3. I won't be a hater 'cause haters are IMMATURE!
4. I'm not here to win a popularity contest; I'm here to show-off my ride which is why we're here, right? But if you think my truck is showoff worthy then please vote for it. I'll be sure to do the same to you! You can bet on that!
5. I won't push people into a corner to vote me up. It's your choice, isn't it?
6. No stickers at all. Remeber: Less = More.
7. I won't do anything that looks "ricey", corny, foolish looking, untasteful, etc. That's a promise !
8. I am going to make a truck that personifies ME, not give in to somebody elses ideal.
9. I am (and have been) working hard and making lots of sacrifices for this truck so please understand that. Read #12 and re-read #1 for clarification.
10.If you don't like it, leave. There are no invisible chains holding you down here.
11. You won't ever see anything from Wal-Mart in, on, or around my truck! Keep American jobs in America!
12. Finally, I'd like to say if you work hard for your goals and acheive them the feeling you get is better than ripping it off someone else. Remember that and you'll get farther in life.
