Wow! The underside of the hood is black!

With the ever growing desire to learn, I took it upon myself to build a motor.
I had a friend sell me a 77 pickup 350 for $50 dollars, it was all torn apart already and needed to be bored and rebuilt.  I had the block bored .030" at the machine shop and then clearanced I had big plans for it.  Like everything i took it to the next level by turning it into a 383 stroker motor.
The build included
Complete SCAT 383 rotating assembly
XE274 Comp Cams Camshaft
Vortec Heads- Brand new from summit
7116 Edelbrock performer RPM intake
Currently - 1406 Edelbrock Performer series Carb- with Electric choke, possibly moving up cfm wise.
Comp Cams Magnum Roller Rockers
400 SBC Flexplate for external balance
Flattop hypereutectic pistons - 10.1:1 compression ratio
Upgraded Valve springs
Hardened Crane cams pushrods
1994 GMC 1500 Serpentine belt system with reversed Water pump
MINI-Starter
Pacesetter Mid-length headers.

Engine Stand :)

The build is pretty similar to one did by chevy high performance- the block put out 489 ftlbs of torque at the flywheel and 430 hp- anything over 400 at the Rear wheel is good enough for me! :)

All will be pushing through a 4speed 200R4, and hopefully 3.42 -3.55 gears in the rear!
