This is my 1977 camaro,
I bought it during the winter around here from a farmer who had NEVER taken care of it, its got a bit of rust and needs alot of attention. So far i have just basically taken out all of the interior plastic except the dash, like I said before this was owned by a farmer who never cleaned it. I cleaned out the power window tracks and really worked on the locks and door mechanisms. The engine is by far the worst part of the car, just a stock 305 2bbl carb nothing great at all.
But its covered in about 29 years of dirt and grime and grease and oil, once again the guy lives on a farm never cleaned it. I have been working on it constantly for the past three days to try and clean up this grimy engine and the progress is minimal, I have before and after shots of everything. After i got it home of course the power steering went out and the window washer pump is broken aswell. Got a long and work filled path ahead. I picked up a spoiler at the local junkyard for it so i hope to get that on soon. It came with all stock parts and accessories nothing changed except some of the wiring for the Radio/tape player which is a big mess. Its clear that this farmer doesnt know how to do to much electrical wiring and really let this car go to hell. For the most part it was worth the low price but it does have some rust which i will be working on later. It also came with a vinyl top which i think is kinda ugly so i ripped it off!
I havent updated the site in a while so things have changed greatly... I sanded down the roof after i took off that vinyl top and then I bolted the spoiler on.. Big Improvement Exterior Wise!
So I went at the body with a sander and some Air craft paint remover.... 4 layers of paint 4!? this was killin me i got the trunklid done, and one quarter panel
Ok.. so this quarter panel is SHOT its all rusted out bondo infested and its just terrible iam hoping to just replace the entire panel with a new one
Everything needs to match :D
new look with some new wheels
Alright so I really was dieing to find a pair of these but everyone wanted a good 300-400 dollars for a set that were in decent shape.. found a local guy who only wanted 125$$$ this works wonderfully!
I posted my ET Mags up for sale 100 dollar earning will hopefully bring me into positives on wheels.
My Dad Sand blasted one of them at his work place on his break for me.. THANKS DAD!!!!!!! it looks awesome and I cant wait to see the rest of them once there done
Up on jacks for easy sanding
Stuff is finally getting done.. and I got into an Auto Collision class which will hopefully get me some tips..
Alright so the front passenger fenders are off and so are the wheels, its been about 5 weeks since I have updated the site which is unfortunate and I should update it more often but I am in school now and I still work most days of the week so life is busy! I pulled both the fenders and the hood off later that night. In autobody we are learning to shoot paint/prime/clear and its alot of fun and i hope to bring my car in there for the finished product.. STILL dont know what color iam going to paint it!!!
This picture was taken this morning 10/14/06 and my car is covered in frost like most mornings now.. its getting to cold to do any actual work on the car outside but this picture is to show what my new wheels look like on the car, I am running 225/70/15's in the back for tires and 195/70/15's in the front to give it a better angle hopefuilly!
Front Tire + Wheel
Rear Tire + Wheel
The wheels need to be painted yet but I have to decide the color of the car before I do that!
Alright MASSIVE CHANGES have been done since i have update once again i slipped and just been working on the car not taking many pictures but today I upload some new ones and there old but i still need to add them to the line up
OK! heres the color some might like it others may hate it It doesnt matter its my car and i love it!!!!
Wow its been a LONG time since i have logged in to update my car, Well its blue now, has a 70 camaro front end, a 60's bel air dash, and this summer its getting a 383 stroker with a 89 gmc pickup serpetine belt system! Car looks way different.
Heres a picture of the Blue Paint job that got started but stopped due to other problems at the time, this summer i hope for completeion.
Its going to get silver stripes too, but for now i have to finish up my 98 z28 that i just bought wrecked so i will actually have a car to drive!
98 Convertible :) I LOVE THE LS1!! fast fun ! everything i want!
More work on the 77 Shaving the firewall Running out of summer- finally posting now a year later!
There is also a little transformation you can hardly see it from this picture but on the Interior page it will be posted!! its a must see for custom rod lovers :D :) :) !
If you can see the picture you can guess what front end swap is in store, I have also planned to make the rear bumper hug closer to the rear of the car instead of hanging out so far.
I have all the 70 -73 camaro parts for the front end swap already including headlight bezels and mounting bracekts, header panel, and lower valance. I'm hoping that this car will catch some attention being as its nothing at all like a 77 ! :)
