Supposedly, there's a CEL fix for the old style AEM CAI. I emailed one of the AEM guys to see if I can get the new, non-CEL-throwing CAI free of charge. No way am I going to pay ANOTHER $260 for ANOTHER CAI.
AEM people: This should be proof enough. You should have got an email from me (cojaro @ gmail.com) with a link to this page.
Got it on the 12th. Installed it the next day. Looks so good on the inside now! Mmm red.
So far, this is what I've noticed after test driving it.
1. Shifting (AT) is not as noticeable as before.
2. Eagerness of engine to rev higher, faster.
3. More noticeable low-end torque
4. A very pleasing exhaust note.
5. Lower RPM's at most speeds (better MPG perhaps?; we'll see in the next few tanks)
