Feb 10, 2007 - I installed the Megan Racing "downpipe" yeasterday. Exhaust tone is now a little louder and there's maybe a slight power increase which I can't feel. Either way, at least I have a true, full cat-back exhaust now.
Well, I installed the Magnaflow cat-back exhaust on my car last night.
(sound)
I think it sounds amazing. At 1500 and below, it has a nice rumble but between 1500 and about 2500 it's almost as quiet as stock, so I won't attract any wannabe racers/ricers when I'm cruisin' on the highway. After 2500 the sound really begins to kick in and by 3000 it's screaming with a healthful tone.
(power)
As far as power goes, the midrange seems a bit more stronger, and the normal rpms I hit while driving in the city (1k-3k) seems like they have much more power than before. Some throttle hesitation, which I used to experience when going from a rolling stop to pushing the throttle, seems to have disappeared or at least isn't noticeable anymore.
(looks)
I really like how it looks much like the stock exhaust finisher, which I had. Of course, it's bigger than that, and with a slant tip, but it definitely looks yummy.
(complications & complaints)
The pipes after the resonator and before the muffler were supposed to
slide right in, but that really didn't happen, as the resonator pipe was just a about a millimeter too wide. A little frustration and a Dremel tool later, I got it on as much as I could and clamped that sucka down as much as I could.
Overall, i <3 it
