"Nessie" spent most of her life in Colorado but now resides in Ontario Canada and is now on the 6th owner. The above picture is what she looked like in early June 1970 shortly after being picked up by the original owner from the dealership. When I got her she was a basket case. She was restored to "stock" specifications from September 01 to January 04. Stock rebuilt 318 w/2bbl Carter and highway gears makes for liesurely cruising. The intent was to do a restoration faithful to the vehicle that rolled off the assembly line on May 13, 1970 at the Belvidere IL assembly plant. This approach was taken because the 1970 Polara convertible is a rare car. No Monaco convertibles were built in 1970 and only 842 Polara convertibles. The only liberites taken were the addition of year correct accessories including road wheels and optional Superlite. Also added is the very uncommon medallion rear bumper. If you want high performance look elsewhere. In the summer of 05 and 06 Nessie won 3rd place in the Cbody stock class at the Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle PA. 1970 was the last year for the full sized Dodge convertible.

As mentioned above a couple unique features of this car are the rare Superlite option located in the left side of the grill and the Fratzog bumper seen only in sales literature and the first months production. Another unusual but year correct accessory is Roadwheels with the tower style centres. Check out my other recently aquired ride a 1968 Dodge Monaco 500 we call "Big Bee" for obvious reasons.
