Shots of interior modifications:
OEM White-faced gauges from a 1997 Nissan Maxima. OEM quality and look with no speedometer or odometer adjustments- still DOT-compliant!

MOMO shift knob. Race Air Leather (Black). Shortens shifter height v. stock knob and gives positive shifter feel. Plus, it looks pretty damn cool!

Unfortunately, I could not swap over the 97 Maxima center console that I loved so much (and for some reason 97 Infiniti I30 models have a 95-96 Nissan Maxima center console- WHY?!?). That is one thing that was high on my list of things to do, and after a month or so of searching, I found one in good condition. Unfortunately, it did not have any change holders or seat heater controls, so I had to do a little modification to make it all work.

Please visit the link below for more pictures of the steps involved in making the modifications necessary to use the 97-99 Maxima center console in a 96-97 Infiniti I30 (or a 95-96 Maxima).

My next step was to swap out the cheesey OEM pleather shift and ebrake boots for real leather ones from RedLine Goods. Their website can be found at www.redlinegoods.com, where they have a wide array of leather shift automotive accessories in custom colors and cut to specifically fit your vehicle.

I had several amplifiers around my apartment that I considered for use in the i30. In the end, I decided to keep the system modest, adding only a small subwoofer setup.
