Purchased new in 1988 this has been one tuff little car. Orignally driven in the Black Hills of South Dakota it came equiped with a block heater. The plug in the front of the car gets many strange looks from people here in the east. guitar150's 1988 Plymouth Horizon ->
It now has approximatly 165,000 miles on it and is driven daily. It hasn't started burning oil yet and the oil was changed every 3,000 to 3,500 miles. It use to carry me anywhere I wanted to go in the Black Hills of South Dakota, often being off road, but nothing serious.

My wife and I use to joke with my oldest son that beware because you're going to learn to drive in this car some day. Except for when I blew the transmission out of it at 120,000 miles this has been a very reliable car. I had one wheel spin and grab extremly hard at highway speed in the ice and snow. It developed a slight grind and I just had the entire transmission rebuilt.guitar150's 1988 Plymouth Horizon ->
Well, I guess you can tell from a few upgrades that my son is putting his signature on this car. We are currently in the process of putting a Sony X-plod system in it. All he has to do for the amp is make the honor roll the first 6 weeks.guitar150's 1988 Plymouth Horizon ->
Working on this car brings back many memories of when I was growing up. It's still a lot of fun for me to help him add little things to the car and spend time with him.

It's kind of cool to have the rear view mirror viberate while listening to tunes going down the road, but don't tell him I do that.

Ever thought of towing somthing as a snowmobile or an atv on a trailer with your car? I specially made a trailer hitch set up that requires 8 holes drilled, and your set. Kit includes everthing to install besides the drill to drill the holes. Asking $150.00 with s/h included. Get back to me if interested. -Thanks-
