Over 8K invested trying to make this 6cyl as bad ass as it can be, 'cause I'm too cheap for an engine swap lol. I want this car to have more show than go, I have enough speeding tickets as it is! I'm planning on getting back to work on her in late May early June '06 when I return to Maine. I'll take some new pictures with my Canon Rebel XL then - do the Mav some justice! Keep checking back!

THE GOODIES!

Street Ready 1975 Ford Maverick
Hi-Performance 6 Cylinder Engine
Balanced and Blue Printed
MSD Ignition System
2 Barrel Carburetor with Edelbrock air filter
Solid Lifter Cam fully Adjustable Valve Train
Jet Hot Coated, Clifford Header
Full 2.5 Exhaust with Flow Master Muffler
C-4 Automatic Transmission
2800 RPM Stall Speed Converter
H-Servo
Heavy Duty Drive Shaft & Universal Joints
9 Rear, 3:70 Gears
Sub-Frame Connectors
Traction Bars
16 Gallon Fuel Cell Trunk Mounted
Moroso Battery Box with Yellow Optima Battery
Engine and Trans Oil Cooler
Alloy Radiator
Original Bumper included

Exterior: This Maverick's got a one-of-a-kind front bumper. I've still yet to decide if I love it or not, I'm either going to mold it to the car and add a custom, black anodized aluminum grille. - OR - order a stock fiberglass bumper and front valance replacement. The car's original bumper was a HUGE chrome clunker, I took that off and threw on a fiberglass replacement (from God knows what vehicle) that fit just fine...for the weight reduction. When I get home in a few weeks, I'm gonna finally decide what's up with it. I may just re-work the current bumper, because I like the idea of a one-off.

Interior: Brand new carpet and re-upholstered seats. New gauges, tach, etc. Flip-switch ignition. Converted from a column shift to a floor shift. CD Player, new 6x9 speakers and more.

Extras: MSD 6A ignition, 9" posi rear end, american racing rims (real nice), 2.5" flowmaster exhaust (loud!), REBUILT straight 6 with less than 1,000 miles on it, new transmission, highly modified dbl carb, B & M quickshifter (floor), Bucket seats in the front, original back seat, speakers installed in the back, edelbrock air cleaner, Moroso battery system, Used to be drag car before engine was rebuilt, has racing tank in the trunk.

Planned mods:

Rust removal & light body work
Mold or replace hood scoop
Mold or replace front bumper
Custom black grille
Possible Fog lamps
Hood pins
New paint
Possible Racing stripes
Exhaust flame kit
And perhaps more? I may add vinyl roll-call aftermarket decals. I may also do some underbody neon, and maybe a subwoofer or two if they'll fit.

5/27/06: So I'm going to start work on the Mav on Monday. My first project(s) are the flame kit and hood pin install. Both should take me no more than a few hours. I'm going to take tons of photos along the way, so I can write up a good how-to here on my site. Not to mention TONS of before pictures, because I'll be workin on her for next month or so and the transformation will be sumthin else! I've decided to go for the dark, agressive, look of a deep black, high-gloss paint job. I may put some vinyl racing stripes on later, but we'll see. The Charger in the Fast & The Furious, as well as Blade and The Punisher look real nice in black. There's something evil about an all black muscle car than I just love. Here's a pic of my concept car. Removes the body lines, graphics, etc. in photoshop. Also added hood pins and a scoop. Let me know what ya think!
