After almost a year I finally updated this page with a couple of new pics of the car, I also moved the page from new yorker to newport where it should be. There was no newport catagory when i created the page...anyway the new pic of the car was only taken a few days ago but the lighing is bad so i'll take a few new ones soon.

This is my 67 chrysler newport custom 4 door hardtop, it's a little rough around the edges but i love it..I've had it for a while, working on it when money permited and only recently finally got it on the road... most of these pics are a few years old and the car has been repainted to "gold tan metallic" since then. i'll have some newer pics up soon....the car was orginally a 383 2 barrel but now is a 350hp version of the 440 from another 67 chrysler..It's been rebuilt with a new holley street avenger carb, slightly higher lift/duration cam and dual exhaust to replace the old 383's single. I plan on eventually replacing the intake and maybe getting a set of 1 7/8 headers...

the engine before:

and after, it still has the old 4160 carb on it here (i don't know what the white thing is in the pic)

here's a pic of the dash with that cool huge steering wheel, I added one of those 3 gauge cluster things a while ago, in the pic they are cheap hastings white face gauges, that i didn't like that much, since the pic they were replaced with cool looking black face with chrome trim vdo gauges

THE CAR I LEARND HOW TO DRIVE IN WAS MY MOM'S 1967 NEW YORKER, SHE ALWAYS HAD BIG CARS LIKE BUICK ELECTRAS, CADILLAC DeVILLES, PONTIAC CATALINAS, OLDSMOBILE 98'S AND LARGE MOPARS!!!THAT'S WHY I DRIVE A 1986 LINCOLN TOWN CAR CARTIER SERIES,,,,IT'S NOT A BIG ASS 1960'S OR 1970'S LEAD SLED, BUT IN 1986, IT WAS THE BIGGEST DOMESTIC CAR ON THE ROAD!!! THERE'S NO SUBSTITUTE FOER SIZE AND LUXURY!!

Very cool. First one like that I've seen on here. I got to steer a Newport like that when I was 6 'cause my dad had one. I remember a big steering wheel and a smooth ride. Love the big Chryslers. Later!
