So after having to put $13K into my other vehicle for a semi-full restoration, I have taken a lot of time off from this car, as it is my daily driver. It gave me the oppurtunity to do a little more research on boosting the power. After a trip to the drag strip in Fayeteville, NC, I have found a 16L aveo that can take a stock Camaro in a 1/4 mile, even though it was only by about a half a second; I thought it was impressive. The driver/ Owner Chris something or another (I was oggling the car) was running an intercooled stage 2 turbo, and nitrous, strut bars, suspension kit, neons, the works. He runs a 1/4 mile in just over 12 seconds, stock camaro's run in the high to mid 13 second mark. The question then came to me, could I get the same power gains out of a supercharger? The answer was, Yes to an extent. To get upwards of 230hp (cut off pt 4 a auto 1.6 aveo 235hp, b4 tranny is shot, manual is about 265hp) with a turbo I can use most of the stock parts (pistons, fuel rails, etc.). But with a super charger if I want those kinds of power gains I would need to reinforce pistons, cam shafts, etc. (According to the Local dealer ship). However with significantly less power gains a small belt driven supercharger would work on the stock engine, as long as the belt tension and pulley ratios are correct.

This is my conversation with the belt drive SC company.
Well a 5-6 PSI application will yield the result you want. You could set up
a blow/dump valve and dump boost to keep boost low - in other words you
could set everything up to run at 6 PSI, but dump everythign above say 3 PSI
this then would yield your 20 HP+ the 6 PSI would give you your 50HP
increase.

Its all about how the system is setup and tuned.

A universal unit - our BDT would be perfect for this application - its easy
to adapt to most anything. You would of course have to fabricate or have
fabricated the mounts.

We can also supply support ware - additional injector control, water
injection, boost timing retard, etc... lots of options.

Is this a DIY project for you? Or will you have someone fabricate and
install the unit?

These are important questions. We want to match one of our units to your
needs.

This car is not a racer, its too dam%ed slow off the line! If I wanted to race I would own a new twin turboed GTO or the new Evo 11 AWD hybrid with ~500hp and 5 motors. One main powerplant and a motor for each wheel.

The centrigal is in an interesting idea....deltamotors featured a supercharged rally kalos (which is a version of the aveo), they used a supercharger like the one you have pictured....it was from a company called rotrex
