also started the desert camouflage paint job. still have a little more work to do.
new pics.
i got tired of looking at the blue scoop so i decided to paint the hood like an old muscle car. also notice the different front bumper. The new one is an aluminum bumper off of an 86 wagon, it saves about 30#s right off the top, and im using cut up aluminum supports when the car came with steel supports (thats worth about 25# of weight). I also did the H4 headlight swap, you can see that the outer low beams look different than the normal high beams
before i painted the hood
also added a second tranny cooler, so thats a 8-pass and a 6-pass cooler. All plumbing is done with braided stainless hose and -6AN fittings. there is a small 8" electric pusher fan behind the secondary cooler now. tranny does not get above 160* unless you put it against the converter.

(UPDATE) 8-6-06
Got my cowl scoop installed two weeks ago. So far has dropped coolant and tranny temps by at least 10 degrees. It will be painted to match the car soon.
With the cowl i was able to reinstall my good air cleaner.
Also started tinting the windows. I cant do the drivers window since it is Lexan. The tint is cheap 35% VLT.
(UPDATE) 6-21-06
I got another pair of Cragers for the front. the Pro-Stars are now track-only wheels. Tires are 235/50R15 Uniroyals.
also removed the rear deck and replaced it with another sheet of aluminum.

got a powder coated 3g alternator, to replace my junkyard 3G.
Got my Kirkey race seat installed today.
(update) 5-19-06 I finally deleted my rear seat properly. .032" aluminum.
also made ducting for the radiator, this make sall the air that comes through the grill go through the radiator.
(UPDATE) 5-02-06 I got tired of the primer spots and decided to sand the primer off. luckily i left color beneath most of the primer. I will prime and paint the rust spots and possible re-clear the entire car.
(UPDATE) 4-29-06 Went to the 1/8th mile today. i went 8.735 @ 80.34 backed up by a 8.739 @ 80.30. best 60' was a 2.005
That is equal to a 13.67 @ 99 1/4 mile run

the current air cleaner is only temporary, the normal one wont allow the hood to close.
I ditched the stock AOD and replaced it with a Performance Automatic Comp C4 rated to 750HP, Reverse manual vlave body, alto red clutches, kevlar bands. TCI 10" street fighter converter 3000 stall.
Interior shot. Grant Challenger GT steering wheel on a quick release hub. Autometer Sport-Comp gauges in custom dash pod.

Front suspension is Competition Engineering 90/10 adjustable drag shocks with stock springs.
New front wheels (4/27/06)
15" X 3.5" Weld Pro Stars.
Rears are 15 X 10" Crager Soft 8's Series 397s wrapped in 325/50R15 BF Goodrich Drag Radials.
BIG rear shot.
Here are the wheels with the current chrome lugnuts and Cragar centercaps.
Trunk shot. 16 gal fuel cell, 10lb nitrous bottle.
Best 1/8th time so far is a 9.5@70 but that was with the crappy AOD and no nitrous, works out to be a 14.84 1/4 hoping for a 13 sec all motor pass and a 12 sec bottle pass. if thats not enough i have a set of AFR 185s waiting to go on. with heads and the bottle that would be 500+HP.
My new hedliner with Raised "LTD" script.
