april 06 - purchased my 2004 wrx with 23500 on the odometer for $17,300. lowered it with tein s-tech springs, tinted it and installed a halo h.i.d. retrofit kit.
may 06 - received my subaru all-weather rubber floor mats... perfect fit! installed a single din pocket designed for the subaru forester beneath my alpine head unit. it's a good fit and the design matches well. the color is just a bit different, but hardly noticeable. inside i've hidden the control for the apex-i auto timer i installed. it's not mounted to anything, i just tuck it away and close the door to the pocket usually. i swapped some piaa ion yellow fog lights for the regular bulbs. and finally, i topped off this busy month by mounting my beautiful air dam obstructing license plates... damn california laws!
may 06 - installed alpine kca-420i ipod adapter. it's awesome! just plug into the bottom of any ipod and the head unit recognizes it as a "changer" so it can be manipulated through the head unit's control panel. i also got new tires. the old bridgestone potenza re92's 205/55/16 were really worn and starting to become a hazard in the rain or wet road conditions. now i'm on yokohama as430 225/50/16. wider is better!
aug 06 - bought a used axle back portion of a bosal twin-tip exhaust. to keep things sleeper, i painted the polished muffler canister with high heat black enamel. i also bought kartboy extended exhaust hangers to keep the exhaust from burning my bumper.
jan 07 - yeah, it's been a while since i've done anything to my car, but change takes time. so i finally got around to doing something that i've been itching to do: debadge the trunk! using small zip-ties as prying tools, i managed to peel off all the badges off my trunk lid. afterwards i fought off the adhesive. all in all... 45 minutes of work, but well worth it! next up, a friend of mine gave me a late Christmas gift: an HKS SSQV (Sequential Blow Off)! that was a 15 minute install and it's nice. i hadn't considered getting one, but now that i have one, i like it!
jan 07 - it's turning out to be a busy month for me! so a friend of mine with his 05 STi shows up at my work and he's cleared out his headlights, so that inspired me to do the same. while i was at it i decided to debadge the front grille, so now my wrx is completely badgeless.
apr 07 - this project has come to its end. i traded in this car for a 2007 wrx. it was fun while it lasted, but i learned a lot and hope the next one turns out ten times better!
