This car is amazing on a twisty road, it handles like its on rails. I upgraded to a Mazda Speed suspension from the shocks, springs, and sway bars that came with the suspension package. The difference is night and day. While it handled great from the beginning, there was to much body roll, and the Bilstein shocks were to soft. The swaybars are thicker, the springs are 26% stiffer and lower the car by about an inch, and the shocks are stiffer as well. In the future, I hope complement the great handling with more horsepower. Im still trying to decide whether to keep it naturally aspirated or go the forced induction route with a supercharger instead of a turbo charger inorder to get immediate response.

The seats keep you from being thrown to the other side of the car in those tight corners.

17 inch wheel with Michelin Pilot Preceda tires that were first introduced with the new Miata. The 11.4 inch rotors in the front, and 11 inch rotors in the back on a 2500 pound car translate into stopping power comparable to a C6 Corvette.

In stock form, the dash was a brilliant black but I think the red looks much sharper.

The new Miata is wider then previous generations, which means more grip. Mazda didn't really need to put dual exausts on a car with a 2 liter engine, but it sure does look kick ass.

The new Miata comes with a 2 liter engine for 2006, compared to a 1.8 liter in the last generation. It makes 170 horsepower and 140 ftlb of torque at the crank. Notice how the engine is completely behind the struts in order the make the car almost perfectly balanced.

This is the result of a hail storm on 4/18/06. The hailstones were the size of golfballs and eggs. The hood and trunk are made out of aluminum so they were damaged more extensively than the steel body panels. The car will be out of commission for two weeks while it undergoes repairs.
