The piece of twisted metal you see here is my 1986 Camaro IROC-Z. It was my first car, bought it before I even had my license. I went through two transmissons and three engines. I had a built engine in it, and had just finished the body work. I was rocking the hotrod black primer while saving up for a paint job. I wrecked it in a street race; proof of how dangerous racing can be. After only a few months I bought my 1989 IROC and have been working on it for the past three years. There's hardly a nut or bolt on this car that I havn't touched.

First day I had the '89. Got it for $1800 witha blown engine. Ripped its guts out that weekend.

Bored 0.030" over, turned crank, upgraded GM rods, flat top hyperutectic pistons, Crane roller cam, lifters and pushrods, double roller timing chain, Comp Cams roller tipped rockers, Manley swirl polished valves, ported heads, 5-angle valve job, modified combustion chambers to unshroud the valves, Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake, Edelbrock carb, 4" K&N filter. Oh yea, I did 99% if this myself.

Officially a "summer only" car.

I removed the fuel sending unit, deleted the pump and extended the pickup. The car was originally TPI and I'll be running a carburetor.

Because I tossed the fuel injection I took apart my wire harness and rebuilt it using only what I needed to power the engine and body harness.

Nothing says "muscle car" like the name Hurst!
