My hubby got me the Brembo Gran Tourismo Big Brake Kit for my birthday! I was so excited! :) He originally ordered the kit with red calipers, but after we put it on, we decided that it didn't fit the color scheme of the car. So we had a set of black calipers sent to us. When the black calipers come, we're going to replace the "brembo" with "bimmerbabe" in the same font! More pictures will come soon....
Note that the clearance is almost nothing! We could only fit a piece of paper through the gap, but only if the paper wasn't crumpled. Talk about a close fit! :)
Here are some other shots of the red calipers. I have to admit that the red really grew on me. They do look very racey.

So finally, the black calipers came in. This is what they looked like before the custom paint job. The vinyl decal shown was created specifically to be used as masking for the paint job.

This is what it looked like after "bimmerbabe" was custom painted onto the calipers. Notice that we also kept the "b" logo.

Here is a picture of the rotors and calipers before the wheel was put back on.

Now for the final product! Here are some closeup shots of the calipers....
and a shot of the wheel with the brakes lurking behind it....

and the car in motion! When the wheels are spinning, all you see are the calipers... it's pretty cool. I love them!

I've been complaining about the braking in my car for a while now. BMW's always seem to need bigger/better brakes. It's nice to know that I have the same brakes as those on the Ferrari F50's! I have to say that there is definitely a big improvement on the braking power. There's an overall better braking feel. I highly recommend these brakes. I've taken my car on some twisty roads through the mountains and heated them up really hot. Those brakes just "take a lickin' and keep on tickin'", as they say. I didn't feel any fading as I slowed down from high speeds to normal speeds. I'm not going to incriminate myself by saying how fast I was going. ;)
