I'm easily sidetracked! Kind of forgot about the carburetor swap... Got a nice 87+ steering wheel and a used set of AFX wheels.

Been a while... Well, the suspension is on. Beautiful ride :) Also got a new-ish transmission in (with working 5th gear) and installed a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and Exedy clutch along with it. Installed solid 80A Urethane motor mounts. Very quick! Carbs are almost ready to install, just need a few more parts.

Okay, it's been a long day. I finished modifying the B/T header to fit, fabbed up a flange for the downpipe, and picked up a couple mufflers to build the dual system with. I also ran into nothing but problems trying to install the HP struts and Intrax springs. Got the fronts on, but the rears won't fit, so once I get the right inserts I'll have the car rolling again.

This is my 1986 Toyota M R2. Right now it's in fair condition, a few dents and dings, but unlike countless other MR2's mine has absolutely NO rust. I'll be rebuilding the engine and tranny someday. When I get some cash flow I was thinking about dropping in either a 4AGZE, 3SGTE, building a custom 4AGTE setup, or maybe even a 7AG(T?)E. Who knows, all I knows is I want at least 250HP!!!

Weber Sidedrafts!!! Still got some work to do before they are ready to install. Rebuild 1 of them, get a jet kit and a fuel pump. Damn those are gonna look good, and sound even better!

The black '87 engine. Not bad for 215,000 miles.

Note the EGR delete. Cheap, easy little mod.

mr2_jake's 1986 Toyota MR2

Kelsport dual exhaust system. I plan on purchasing the mid-pipe and using my own mufflers. The ones they use are pretty cheap. I've heard good things about the design though!

Nice and clean trunk

Golf ball shift knob?..Damn straight

Nice and shiny!

Old exhaust. 2'' cat bypass, 1 3/4'' 180º bend, to 2'' into Dynomax muffler, 2'' outlet

8/6/07

Needs a new bumper and driver side fender

Also could use some lowering springs, looks like a monster truck from this angle

New custom short shifter

ASK ME IF YOU NEED ANY MK1 PARTS

Kelsport Alternator pulley, INSTALLED

Techno Toy Tuning Crank Pulley

New Scoop!

New pulley (right). New one weighs 82g old weighs 200g.

Shined up and ready to be installed.

Notice the bottom strip of the taillights painted white along with the center piece. Really makes the back look clean. This is what I'll be doing with my taillights...someday...

8/30/07
New taillights. They look way better than the old style

OLD TAILLIGHTS FOR SALE

10/18/07

New plug wire set up. Might not look as pretty but supplies better spark.

Valve covers primed and ready for some fresh red paint. The lettering will be in black.

They're painted, now to paint the letters.

I painted my oil cap to match the covers. Not bad, eh?

The finished product. Much more aesthetically pleasing. A job well done!

Cut my stock shift knob down to fit with short shifter. Looks pretty sick.

New idea, use a Flowmaster Hushpower II muffler and Thunderbolt High-flow SS Cat. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use one of these mufflers on any sport compact. should sound nice though!

Got the scoop painted and installed.

So I got my 87+ side vent painted but I still need the bracket to install it. Which looks better?

Here's the new exhaust system.

Excuse the shitty tailpipe and wire hangers. Like I said it is still incomplete. I just used some extra scraps for the tailpipe but once I get a real one on there I'll weld on my hangers and paint it.

G-Tech Pro RR Performance Meter. I really need to invest in one of these!

New fender

And new hood, yeah yeah they're white, that sucks. It's ok though, just another excuse to get my car repainted!!!

1/1/08

Here's the exhaust in ghetto form.

And hanging in the air after paint. Getting closer!

And here it is, finally completed and installed.

Lookin killer!

3/13/08
Here's some new pictures

Here's the engine in its current form

Magnecor Competition plug wires

Blox 6'' Velocity stack

Blaster 3 coil (Had to modify coil wire from socket to HEI connection)

My homebrew oil catch can.

Look at that fine ass! Nice exhaust.
