ponyup93's 2000 Ford F-Series Pick-Up First Time In The Driveway

2000 Ford F-250 4x4 Off Road Pkg, XLT Supercab Longbed, 7.3L (444 c.u.i.) International Navistar Powerstroke Turbo Diesel (Early 2000 w/ Forged Rods), 6-Speed ZF Manual Transmission, New Process 2.72 ratio Manual Transfer Case, 3.73 gears, Black over Silver with Gray cloth interior

When purchased the truck had 104K miles on it. The 7.3L is just getting "broke in" at that mileage. Many people easily go 300,000+ miles on these engines, especially the pre September 2000's that have forged connecting rods. I'd been toying with getting a diesel for a long time and this one came up at a good price. It runs great and only needs some TLC & minor work (see bent front bumper & push bar)

Power Ratings~
I found an old article where they Dyno tested a truck with basically the same mods I have and it produced 380 Horsepower (316.7 at rear wheels) and 773.6 Ft. Lbs of Torque. The article is written a little weird so I'm not sure if the torque reading was at the rear wheels, or at the engine, adjusted for a 20% power loss through the drivetrain. Either way, my conservative guesstimae of 300 HP and 700 Ft. Lbs Torque was a bit low.

Thanks, Dlo2001. There are a lot of good chips and programmers out there. For the 7.3L most people regard DP Tuners as being among the best available. He has a whole range of options to pick for your programming. I'm running a TS Peformance chip now b/c they have a good reputation and I got a great deal on it brand new on E-bay. Good Luck!
